What to Bring – ما اجلب؟

Clothing
Taking into consideration that you are visiting a primarily Muslim country, wearing revealing clothes is never appreciated and conservative dress is advisable for both men and women in downtown Amman and outside the cities. Here are some recommendations on the most important things to bring with yourself:

· Pack loose, leightweight cotton trousers, cropped pants, T-shirts with short and long sleeves, and hiking boots/trainers/sandals.

· Do not forget to bring sunglasses, sunscreen to protect yourself from sunburn.

· Bring hat, baseball cap or scarf for protecting your head and hair.

· Cardigans, light coats are ideal for cooler evenings (during the winter, make sure to bring heavy jackets and layers for the cold nights)

Shorts are rarely worn by either sex, but anything below the knee is typically permitted.

If you are a woman, be sure to bring enough feminine hygiene products for your stay as some products are not sold in Jordan due to lack of demand.

For a particularly helpful packing list concerning toiletries, power converters, etc., see this traveler’s checklist.
