Climate – الطقس

Generally speaking, Jordan is blessed with a Mediterranean climate for pleasurable year-round travel. The best times to visit are spring (April-May) which brings optimal weather, lush with greenery, and autumn (October-November) when the weather is delightful and dry (but not oppressive).

Winter season, from November through March, is generally mild; spells of rain are interspersed with brilliant sunshine. When you visit Ajloun at this time, you will want to bring heavy clothes for the particularly colder nights in Jordan.

The average annual rainfall varies between 400 mm in north-west near the Jordan Valley and less than 100 mm in the southern areas of the country, the capital Amman receives an average of 280 mm of rain a year.
